Job Opportunity: Project Engineer
Are you a dynamic and skilled engineer with a passion for managing projects and driving technical excellence? We are currently seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join a leading global company in the food industry. As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in coordinating and managing capital projects, ensuring smooth process operations, and providing technical expertise to support production and process development.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Engineering
- Define and manage capital projects to meet the objectives set by the Management Team.
- Collaborate with the Production Manager to establish downtime requirements and scheduling.
- Coordinate equipment installations and construction activities while minimizing disruption to production.
- Successfully execute capital projects and repairs within set timelines and budgets.
Communication
- Foster effective communication across departments regarding ongoing project work.
- Maintain open channels for sharing ideas and concerns, ensuring a collaborative work environment.
- Actively participate in daily production meetings to stay aligned with operational needs.
Process Technology and Development
- Monitor and provide technical insights into extraction, processing, and drying operations.
- Serve as a key technical liaison between internal operating units and external contractors/consultants.
- Offer technical support to production, maintenance, R&D, and quality control departments.
Safety
- Prioritize and uphold safety policies and procedures, embedding safety into project work.
- Ensure timely completion of safety-related tasks and projects.
- Champion Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and the Food Safety Plan, contributing to a culture of food safety.
Budget
- Drive cost efficiency by adhering to budgets and preparing annual capital project budgets.
- Identify optimal proposals for projects, aligning spending with long-term goals and immediate budgets.
Human Resources
- Assist in employee training initiatives as needed.
- Uphold Human Resource policies and compliance with employment laws.
Essential Skills & Knowledge:
- Bachelor’s degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering or related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience with a background in project management.
- Project management of capital projects of $10M or more
- Proficiency in devising projects to enhance plant operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge:
- Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), engineering in food production settings, and 3A standards.
- Understanding of process controls.
