Position Title: Senior Engineering Technician - 12 Hour Nights

Wage: $36.00 - $40.00/hour

Shift: 12 Hour Nights

Hours: 5:30pm – 5:00am (Sunday – Tuesday, Every Other Wednesday OR Thursday – Saturday, Every Other Wednesday)

Job Summary: This is a direct hire role. As a Senior Engineering Technician, you will independently perform complex technical and analytical work on experiments, playing a crucial role in the design, building, and testing of prototypes and raw materials. You will lead the set-up, operation, and troubleshooting of test and manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with company and external regulatory guidelines. Collaboration with engineers, developing test protocols, and providing work direction and training for less experienced technicians are integral aspects of this role.

Senior Engineering Technician Responsibilities:
- Perform complex testing, modify procedures and inspect raw materials and assemblies using standard or custom tools
- Maintain, accurately follow and record protocols/procedures and test logs
- Identify complex trends or problems, solving or directing solutions and interpreting/recommending actions
- Collaborate with engineers, leading the design, development and building of test fixtures, protocols, monitoring strategies or inspection results
- Perform technical, administrative and logistical responsibilities in identifying work area needs
- Provide work direction and training for less experienced technicians
- Develop standards, tools, and methods and provide or write documentation to the required departmental level
- Under the guidance of engineers, write test protocols and reports and execute test plans
- Serve as a lead, coach, and mentor to less experienced technicians
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Provide database information to relevant groups
- Handle, collect, label and/or transfer hazardous chemical waste following established procedures

Qualifications for Senior Engineering Technician:
- Technical degree or equivalent of education and experience
- Preferred coursework in advanced mathematics, statistics, metrology, engineering disciplines, hydraulics, electronics, mechanics, computer programming, chemistry, biology, physics, physiology, anatomy, or related sciences
- At least ten years of technical experience
- Experience in the medical device industry and manufacturing/testing preferred
- Cleanroom assembly experience preferred
- Skills and experience in design and troubleshooting of electrical, mechanical and/or software systems
- Experience in the fabrication of complex mechanical and electro-mechanical systems and assemblies
- Knowledge and use of relevant computer software applications
- Ability to work independently and multitask
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Leadership and teamwork skills
- Problem-solving approach
- Planning skills and ability to manage time effectively
- Knowledge of statistical operations and analysis
- Proficiency and knowledge of state-of-the-art technology related to the role
- Ability to specify and procure materials and components
- Professional interfacing with manufacturers, vendors and contractors
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
