Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor to lead and oversee our production operations during the evening hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of manufacturing technicians, ensuring the efficient execution of production processes, and maintaining high-quality standards. The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Supervisor will play a pivotal role in driving productivity, safety, and teamwork within the manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of manufacturing technicians during the 2nd shift, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work culture.
- Plan, organize, and coordinate production activities to meet daily, weekly, and monthly production targets while maintaining quality standards.
- Monitor and manage production schedules, ensuring that production lines are optimized for efficiency and minimal downtime.
- Assign tasks to team members, set clear expectations, and provide regular feedback on performance, addressing any performance or behavior issues promptly.
- Collaborate with the 1st Shift Supervisor and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless transition between shifts, sharing relevant information and updates.
- Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring that all team members adhere to safety guidelines and regulations to create a safe work environment.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and work with the Continuous Improvement team to implement lean manufacturing practices and enhance operational efficiency.
- Train new employees on manufacturing processes, equipment operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
- Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot operational issues, and coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate production records, including production reports, quality control data, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with the Materials Management team to ensure the availability of raw materials and components for production.
- Address any production delays, deviations, or quality issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, open communication, and continuous learning among the manufacturing team.
- Participate in performance reviews, goal setting, and development plans for manufacturing technicians.
- Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements relevant to manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field preferred).
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least [X] years of supervisory experience.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team towards common goals.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control principles, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Problem-solving mindset and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with team members and other departments.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience with equipment maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus.
