Application Engineer

Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with account management and customers to develop effective fluid flow system layouts and resolve system-level challenges.
- Design and integrate exhaust products/systems for both on-highway and off-highway markets, aligning with customer specifications.
- Create and maintain detailed design models and system-level Bill of Materials.
- Generate engineering specifications and product documentation, including 2D prints.
- Coordinate technical support activities such as mechanical design, FEA/CFD analyses, testing, and prototypes to meet technical deliverables.
- Optimize designs for manufacturability and cost-effectiveness in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
- Ensure adherence to Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles during the design process.
- Manage and report on project schedules, overseeing issue resolution through a structured 7-step process.
- Occasional travel (10-25%) to customer and supplier sites for on-site testing and technology presentations.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent educational background.
- Strong grasp of fluid mechanics and thermodynamics.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in product design, utilizing solid modeling tools (Inventor preferred).
- Proficiency in CAD modeling and print creation.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, while maintaining a customer-centric focus.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Strong prioritization and multitasking capabilities.
- Comfortable collaborating within cross-functional teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
