Job Posting: Chemical Facility Engineer

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Chemical Facility Engineer to join our client's Engineering Department. As a Chemical Facility Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the maintenance, functionality, and efficiency of equipment within an API chemical manufacturing facility. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and make a significant impact on the manufacturing process.

Job Function: In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
  • Ensuring the safe and proper working order of all equipment within the facility.
  • Developing and implementing a preventative maintenance schedule and documentation system.
  • Calibrating and troubleshooting instrumentation as needed.
  • Maintaining a qualified contractor list for equipment repairs and maintenance.
  • Evaluating and monitoring the function of various process equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Collaborating with the chemical operations team to coordinate maintenance and repairs.
  • Driving continuous improvement in equipment quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Leading efforts for the specification and implementation of new process equipment.
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Job Specifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment, with knowledge of liquid and solid transfer methodologies. 5+ years of leadership and project management experience.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Proficiency in process chemistry equipment and techniques. Demonstrated problem-solving skills. Strong technical writing abilities and proficiency in spreadsheet and database software. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Familiarity with SolidWorks and AutoCAD. Comfortable working independently in a chemical manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must complete a respirator evaluation and comply with the Facial Hair policy.

Other Equipment Operated:
  • Hand and power tools, spark tester, welding equipment, forklift, electrical test devices, and computers.
  • Full-face respirator and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) when required.
