Job Title: Controls Engineer

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Controls Engineer to join our team of professionals. As a Controls Engineer, you will play a vital role in designing and validating controls for automated systems. This includes commissioning these systems at our customers' locations and providing essential customer support during installation and troubleshooting. Your contributions will be instrumental in the seamless integration and optimization of machine controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize AutoCad Electrical to design machine electrical and fluid controls, ensuring efficient and reliable system operation.
  • Provide crucial support to the manufacturing process during controls installation, ensuring the successful implementation of automated systems.
  • Integrate and troubleshoot machine controls, identifying and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Develop comprehensive machine controls documentation, facilitating efficient maintenance and future improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Controls Engineering Manager on various continuous improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of our processes.
  • Maintain an organized and orderly workspace, promoting a safe and productive environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong knowledge of power distribution, motor drives, safety circuits (e.g., Allen Bradley, Pilz, Schmersal), PLC and HMI logic and programming (e.g., Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi), and pneumatic circuits and devices.
  • Effectively troubleshoot control systems and circuits, ensuring optimal system performance.
  • Possess proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and be familiar with relevant industry standards and practices (NEC, NFPA, ISO, ANSI B11, OSHA, etc.).
  • Showcase excellent planning and project management skills, meeting challenging deadlines with precision.
  • Display strong organizational skills and a supportive approach towards internal and external customer needs.
  • Demonstrate experience with robot integration (e.g., Motoman, Fanuc, Kuka, Panasonic, ABB), enhancing the versatility of your contributions.
  • Exhibit effective communication skills, enabling seamless interaction with customers, team members, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Display a willingness to travel as needed to fulfill job requirements.
  • Embrace adaptability and a self-motivated learning mindset, staying current with industry advancements.
  • Basic understanding of GMA Welding is a plus.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree (BSEE or BSET) from an accredited university or college with a minimum of two years' experience, or an Associates Degree in Electrical Design with a minimum of five years' experience.
  • Proficiency in AutoCad Electrical for designing controls.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, motor drives, safety circuits, PLC and HMI logic and programming, and pneumatic circuits and devices.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and practices.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for control systems and circuits.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).
  • Effective project management abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused mindset.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
