Job Description
Position Title: Director of IT
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide consistent, high-quality IT services; training and support; and maintenance of all computer systems
- Manage capital expense budgets for all IT related operations; invest in next-level solutions to improve IT capabilities and services
- Analyze complex business needs and recommend technical solutions
- Develop and continuously train staff to maximize department capabilities, elevate team, and build a customer service focus
- Effectively prioritize all IT-related projects; manage milestones and targets, and allocate resources accordingly, to ensure end product reliability, usability, and on-time delivery
- Ensure the consistency and sustainability of existing applications by employing implementation standards and procedures for solutions
- Oversee the selection and procurement, and installation and maintenance of all departmental hardware, software, and related products/supplies
- Maintain systems operability and provide ongoing computer and IT related support; serve as liaison between hardware and software suppliers and company management for informational updates and problem resolution
- Create, maintain, and enforce written IT policies and procedures for the organization
- Track IT department productivity, output quality, and cost of service, and develop methods to continually improve results
- Continuously evaluate new technologies and processes, recommend appropriate changes/upgrades, and oversee installation/roll-out
- Maintain security of all proprietary data, complete backups of all systems, and contingency/recovery plans in case of system failure or disaster
- Develop and maintain implementation standards and procedures for technical solutions to ensure consistency of existing applications and user experience
- Ensure timely preparation and distribution of business reports, and the integrity and security of all company databases
- Serve as liaison between users, operations, and programming personnel for systems design, modifications, or troubleshooting
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
- Advanced degree/certifications preferred
- 8-10 years of experience in IT field, including management/supervisory responsibilities
- In-depth knowledge of and experience with network and server architecture, hardware, software, and related technologies, including client, file, and remote servers; telecommunications: cellular, VOIP, fax servers; and other systems
- Knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, SQL Server (specifically TSQL), and SIP
- Areas of knowledge would be a benefit: Infor’s CloudSuite Industrial (CSI), Power BI, Cisco Firepower, MDM (Intune), software development practices (Agile), and security practices like MFA
- Experience implementing or maintaining MRP/ERP systems. Syteline or similar ERP system experience a plus
- Advanced MS Office experience and familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems
