Job Opportunity: Electrical Engineer
Are you a skilled Electrical Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to shape the future of power solutions? Our client, a pioneering industry leader in rugged power solutions for mobile electronics, is seeking an accomplished Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This is a unique chance to contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge products that power ruggedized laptop and tablet computers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide design guidance and expertise across all phases of new product creation.
- Design and develop efficient DC-DC converters, exploring various topologies (buck, boost, buck/boost, flyback, etc.).
- Generate comprehensive design documentation, including schematics, firmware, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
- Collaborate with customers to conduct design reviews and address technical inquiries.
- Aid customers in troubleshooting installation and functional issues.
- Define production testing requirements and design effective test fixtures and loads.
- Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of existing product lines.
- Ensure designs comply with global and military certification standards.
- Engage in mechanical design decisions and research new technologies relevant to mobile power supply solutions.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4-7 years of experience in electrical engineering or related technical roles.
- Proven ability to develop original circuit designs and schematics for production and DFMA.
- Hands-on experience in PCB layout design and troubleshooting for production.
- Knowledge of power supply design is a plus.
- Familiarity with embedded systems and microcontroller-based control systems.
- Programming skills are beneficial.
- USB design experience (preferred but not required).
- Track record of documenting original designs for production release.
- Experience designing for compliance with international and military standards (preferred but not required).
- Effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Proficiency in Altium, Cadence, or similar ECAD software.
- Strong command of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
