Are you a skilled and innovative Engineer seeking an opportunity to make a significant impact in a dynamic environment? We are currently recruiting for an Engineer II position at a reputable company specializing in custom hydraulic cylinder solutions. As an Engineer II, you will play a vital role in designing, developing, and analyzing hydraulic products while collaborating with a passionate and dedicated team.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, the Engineer II will contribute to the design, development, and analysis of both new and existing hydraulic products. This role offers a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and contribute to the growth of a renowned organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Create and enhance designs for new and existing hydraulic products.
  2. Develop working prototypes for beta testing and customer demonstrations.
  3. Perform engineering calculations to support design processes.
  4. Establish testing procedures, conduct testing, and validate new designs.
  5. Collaborate with Sales Managers, providing technical assistance to support sales efforts.
  6. Coordinate with Operations to accurately and promptly process Engineering Change Requests.
  7. Act as an Engineering liaison across departments to facilitate the efficient release of new products and product changes.
  8. Maintain and update engineering specifications and standards.
  9. Supervise and assist Designers to ensure products meet customer, manufacturing, and safety standards.
  10. Conduct general cost analysis.
  11. Engage in customer relations activities such as troubleshooting, field assistance, and telephone support.
  12. Participate in cross-functional teams to contribute to lean initiatives.
  13. Prepare and submit engineering packets to third-party governing bodies.

Marginal Responsibilities:
  1. Offer troubleshooting and assistance on the production floor as needed.
  2. Provide customer support over the phone as required.
  3. Engage in customer visits when necessary.
  4. Assist in updating and maintaining customer files.
  5. Contribute to the upkeep of drawing files.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 5-10 years of experience in Engineering (required)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software (required)
  • Experience in creating engineering packets for third-party governing bodies (preferred)
  • Certified Fluid Power Hydraulic Specialist within one year of employment (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of metal fabrication processes (required)
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes
  • Strong project development and leadership skills
  • Ability to plan, schedule, coordinate, and effectively problem solve
  • Familiarity with various machining processes
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics
  • Impeccable attention to detail
  • Good computer skills
  • Emphasis on Mechanics of Materials, Stress & Strain Analysis, and Carbon Steel Manufacturing properties (preferred)
