Job Description
The Maintenance Supervisor role involves overseeing and managing maintenance activities in a factory setting to ensure the availability of productive equipment and optimal cost efficiency. Here's a breakdown of the responsibilities, specifications, requirements, and demands associated with the position:
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance activities through daily monitoring.
- Develop the technical and behavioral skills of the maintenance team through training and coaching.
- Ensure goal achievement through action plans, indicator monitoring, standards compliance, and team management.
- Elaborate and manage annual budgets for expenses and investments.
- Control maintenance expenses through budget analysis.
- Execute maintenance actions while controlling costs and meeting goals.
- Develop suppliers based on internal needs and technological advancements.
- Promote continuous improvements in maintenance and production processes.
- Analyze purchase needs for replacement parts and equipment.
- Foster a positive organizational climate through team meetings.
- Assist in preparing and controlling the investment plan for production.
- Plan and manage maintenance activities during factory shutdowns.
- Drive reduction in maintenance costs through various strategies.
- Develop and manage projects, from study to implementation.
- Prepare an annual training plan for the team.
- Perform other relevant activities inherent to the role.
Position Specifications and Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Technical school degree and/or 2-3 years equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician.
- Excellent mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Strong math aptitude.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proficiency in using electronic devices.
- Ability to use hand tools and perform simple repairs.
- Strong troubleshooting experience.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Must have the ability to comprehend and adapt to new information for problem-solving and decision-making.
Physical and Mental Demands:
- Standing/Sitting: Approximately 90% standing, some sitting required.
- Lifting/Carrying: May involve lifting and occasionally carrying parts.
- Bending/Reaching: Work in confined spaces, bending, stretching, and reaching.
- Walking/Climbing: Walking and climbing stairs/ladders for repairs.
- Hand Tasks: Operate hand tools, both manual and power tools.
- Mental Capacity: Ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems.
- Regular Contacts: Interaction with Production Manager, Shift Lead/Process Technician, Tooling Technician, Set-Up Technician.
