A growing, employee-owned metal fabrication company in New Berlin, WI is seeking a Manufacturing Technician / Engineer to join their team on 1st shift. This is a hands-on technical role that blends shop drawing creation, fabrication process support, and collaboration with shop floor personnel. The company is under new leadership, embracing servant leadership principles, and offers a team-oriented culture where every employee has ownership in the future.

This position is open due to a planned retirement and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys the intersection of engineering and fabrication—working in SolidWorks, optimizing designs for manufacturability, and being actively engaged on the shop floor. The environment supports cross-training, continuous improvement, and encourages employees to grow their skills across various areas of the business.

Manufacturing Technician Responsibilities:
- Convert customer drawings into manufacturing-ready shop drawings using SolidWorks
- Modify and optimize drawings for fabrication processes including press brake, forming, and assembly
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Production to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
- Support pre-production estimating, quoting, and project tracking

- Engage directly with shop floor teams to troubleshoot and support fabrication operations

Requirements for Manufacturing Technician:
- SolidWorks proficiency—able to create, interpret, and adjust shop floor-ready drawings
- Hands-on understanding of fabrication, forming, or metalworking processes
- Comfortable working with production teams and bridging the gap between design and execution
- Strong mechanical aptitude—whether gained on the job or through formal training
- Associate degree in a manufacturing-related field OR equivalent hands-on experience
- Knowledge of Lean principles, process flow improvement and cost analysis preferred
- Familiarity with orthographic projection, tolerancing, and basic CAD/CAM principles preferred
- Positive attitude, growth mindset, and an interest in learning and taking on more responsibility over time
- Thrives in a cross-functional environment that blends legacy knowledge with modern tools and systems

Why Join:
- 100% Employee-Owned (ESOP) – early-stage ownership model with long-term upside
- New leadership committed to servant leadership and team development
- Large, modern 100,000 sq. ft. facility
- Opportunity to join during a period of growth, stability, and operational improvement
- Regular collaboration across teams with career path opportunities
