Job Opportunity: Mechanical Design / Electrical Engineer

Are you a skilled Technical Design or Electrical Engineer seeking a dynamic role that encompasses diverse product offerings? We are currently looking for a driven individual to join our team and support Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing across various technical aspects. In this position, you will utilize 3D SolidWorks software and 2D AutoCAD to develop designs for a wide range of products, including plastics, rubber, lighting, membrane switches, metal fabrication, machined parts, and electromechanical assemblies. Your expertise will be crucial in transitioning designs into manufacturing, conducting testing, and maintaining accurate documentation records.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing to provide technical support in multiple areas.
  • Develop designs using 3D SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD for a diverse product range, including plastics, metal fabrication, machined parts, and more.
  • Cross-train to assist in various design and engineering functions, such as electrical and electronic designs, PCB layout, mechanical design, graphic artwork, and documentation.
  • Select materials and components for product construction.
  • Create assembly prints, documentation packages, and maintain precise records.
  • Work with customers and resources to meet product development goals and deadlines.
  • Assemble, analyze, qualify, and test products to ensure they meet customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage critical program launches successfully.
  • Contribute to process improvement projects as assigned by management.
  • Monitor and track plant and functional area performance measures.
  • Utilize creative and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Research and evaluate materials, develop processes, systems, and technologies.
  • Maintain and enhance ISO 9000 Quality System.

Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in 3D SolidWorks and 2D AutoCAD.
  • Strong understanding of plastics, metals, and finishes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge and experience in assembly and manufacturing processes.
  • Electrical and PCB design experience is a plus.
  • High level of numerical accuracy and organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Self-starter with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in interactions with team members.
  • Hands-on and a team player with the ability to work independently.
  • Mechanical, molded, and machined component design experience, including knowledge of metals and finishes.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks drawings and mechanical designs.
  • Quoting and cost estimation experience.
  • Familiarity with assembly and manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of product design experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of AutoCAD experience.
  • Some exposure or knowledge of fabrications, machining, molding, and graphics.
