Job Description
Position Title: New Product Development Manager
In this role, the Engineering New Product Development Manager will support project execution by scheduling work to meet completion dates and technical specifications for state-of-the-art products. The successful candidate will be responsible for variety of engineering assignments requiring a broad knowledge of engineering specialty. We are looking for a candidate to provide technical leadership and assist in training less experienced drafters, designers, and engineers.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Execute the growth and development plans set by the VP of Engineering; provide guidance and support for resource needs and testing facilities to support the departmental plan
- Supervise and manage the engineering resources effectively and efficiently to achieve project objectives, support the NPD Process, and deliver the NPD Roadmap
- Coach, mentor, and direct engineering team members of the New Product Development Group
- Provide leadership for the assessment and evaluation of product development efforts, including mechanical and manufacturing aspects of project design; evaluate and recommend design changes and specifications
- Assess product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer contract requirements, and related specifications
- Coordinate with various cross-functional stakeholders for project advancement and communicate activity to Senior Leadership Team
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university in the sciences of engineering
- 5 years of experience in product development/engineering role
- 3-5 years of leadership experience
- Engineering and design experience for manufacturing products
- Engineering Process Excellence
- Reliability and Qualification experience for manufacturing products
