Job Title: Principal Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership:
  • Lead and be accountable for projects, ensuring data-based results.
  • Guide major programs, functioning in a project leadership role.
  • Direct major phases of complex engineering work, devising innovative approaches to project challenges.

2. Automation Work Cells:
  • Lead teams and initiatives supporting highly automated manufacturing work cells operating 24/7.
  • Ensure the successful completion of projects to achieve major organizational objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) globally.

3. Process Development:
  • Develop new processes with a significant impact on multiple disciplines.
  • Collaborate with global engineering teams to optimize manufacturing lines.

4. Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Mentor less experienced engineers.
  • Provide broad-based direction within the functional area and cross-functionally.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas where expertise is applicable.

5. Communication and Collaboration:
  • Present complex technical information and respond to questions from technical staff and management effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

6. Regulatory Compliance:
  • Work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing and regulatory compliance issues.
  • Contribute to the establishment of business objectives, goals, budgets, and costs.

7. Continuous Learning:
  • Stay updated on recent technical advances within the industry and apply knowledge to products and processes.

Qualifications:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent of education and experience.
  • Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Engineering preferred.

Experience:
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in an FDA regulated environment.
  • Two years of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience required.
  • Familiarization with engineering methods, independent thinking, and company practices.

Skills:
  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of automation and engineering disciplines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Familiarity with FDA regulations and GMP.
