Job Title: Principal Automation Engineer

Responsibilities:
1. Project Leadership:
- Lead and be accountable for projects, ensuring data-based results.
- Guide major programs, functioning in a project leadership role.
- Direct major phases of complex engineering work, devising innovative approaches to project challenges.
2. Automation Work Cells:
- Lead teams and initiatives supporting highly automated manufacturing work cells operating 24/7.
- Ensure the successful completion of projects to achieve major organizational objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) globally.
3. Process Development:
- Develop new processes with a significant impact on multiple disciplines.
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to optimize manufacturing lines.
4. Leadership and Mentorship:
- Mentor less experienced engineers.
- Provide broad-based direction within the functional area and cross-functionally.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in areas where expertise is applicable.
5. Communication and Collaboration:
- Present complex technical information and respond to questions from technical staff and management effectively.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
6. Regulatory Compliance:
- Work with manufacturing and other functional groups on manufacturing and regulatory compliance issues.
- Contribute to the establishment of business objectives, goals, budgets, and costs.
7. Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on recent technical advances within the industry and apply knowledge to products and processes.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent of education and experience.
- Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Engineering preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in an FDA regulated environment.
- Two years of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) experience required.
- Familiarization with engineering methods, independent thinking, and company practices.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- In-depth knowledge of automation and engineering disciplines.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Familiarity with FDA regulations and GMP.
