Job Description

The Production Planner will have principal responsibility for managing inventory levels in accordance with the forecasted manufacturing plan and a key partner in achieving on time delivery to our customers. Working closely with the supply base, they are accountable for material availability and costing in order to effectively meet both the customer’s needs and our internal supply chain metrics. Success in the role includes a positive, proactive approach to daily work along with strong communication and organizational skills.

DUTIES/ RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Communicating the impact of parts issues and exceptions to the organization and customer 

Ensure forecasts are regularly reviewed with organization and customers 

Manage and execute the ERP/MRP 

Responsible for target customer inventory levels, turns, projection and inventory optimization  

Analysis and reporting of Material Availability by project, including identifying last part in house dates  

Determine and manage implementation dates and material cost impact 

Investigation, validation and reduction of direct material variances  

Management of inventory, including disposition of excess and obsolete inventory  
 
QUALIFICATIONS: 
Bachelors, Associates or equivalent on the job experience

Over 3 years of planning experience within manufacturing 

ERP system experience within a Supply Chain environment including planning, inventory control and purchasing 

Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel 

Experience with customer communication 

The ability to solve problems and resolve issues
