Job Description
Position Title: Scientist/Sr. Scientist
Salary: Based on Experience
A Scientist/Sr. Scientist job in Atchison, KS is available through Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions, a division of QPS Employment Group.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support innovation in the development of new ideas, new products or new product platforms through ideation sessions and bench-top experimentation.
- Work cross-functionally, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, QA, and Supply Chain to develop innovative products from concept to commercialization.
- Assist teammates with other R&D projects outside of extrusion and be flexible in taking on additional tasks as needed to support the company's business goals.
- Organize extrusion trials and apply technical expertise to extrusion projects and challenges.
- Efficiently design extrusion parameters and conditions for trials, scale-up runs, and troubleshoot complex and critical processes or equipment.
- Work with cross-functional team members internally and externally to commercialize the product in a scheduled time.
- Provide technical solutions to internal and external customers.
- Communicate (written and orally) complex messages and project updates in a concise and timely manner.
- Analyze data, record results, and organize and maintain data and files.
- Record and file IP protections.
- Attend meetings, trainings, conferences, and tradeshows outside or within the company to keep abreast with the latest technological information.
- Continually seek technical information through books, magazines, technical papers, and the internet to allow us to learn and solve problems.
Requirements:
- B.S. in Food Science, Grain Science, Food Engineering, or related fields.
- 2+ years of related experience is required for Scientist role; 6+ years of related experience is required for Senior Scientist role.
- Experience in making diverse grain-based products using extruders/Twin Screw Extrusion Technology.
