Job Description
Position Title: Test, Validation and Compliance Manager
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1. 80% Management of R&D Test Lab
- Work with Design Engineering to develop product testing plans and timelines for the building of proof of concept (POC) and prototype machines; Testing will consist of bench, complete machines and field; In addition, support zero series machines with final shake down and external compliance testing
- Integrate FEA analysis with testing in the lab to make sure analysis/simulation is accurate with actual test loading conditions
- Develop test procedures and refining of test practices for consistent methodologies
- Assist shop floor with assembly line issues and troubleshoot machine performance issues as needed; Electrical, Mechanical and Software
- Work with Service on warranty concerns or customer complaints
- Support Product Management with Customer demo’s, machine and site setup and transportation of machines
2. 20% Compliance
- Coordinate various internal departments for product liability issue as they arise; Interface with outside resources to develop plan for product investigations, providing internal documents and general information about subject machines
- Interaction with outside certification services for organizing and performing factory audits. NATM, CSA, Intertek
- Coordinate with outside test resources for product certification
- Prepare and document various quarterly and annual reports for government agencies; DOT, CSA, EPA and CARB
- Work with Corporate Legal Office and outside Counsel on Intellectual Property; Submitting new applications, providing support in IP maintenance decisions and IP investigations
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM)
- Master's degree in Engineering, Math or Business preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Travel required-up to 5% Domestic and International
